NYARM BOARD APPOINTS TWO NEW MEMBERS

In accordance with the rules and regulations outlined in the NYARM by-laws, the Board of Directors appointed two new manager members. Brendan Keany and Charles L. Holden have been named to fill the remainder of the terms left by retiring members Otis Jones and Leslie Kaminoff.

BRENDAN KEANY
Brendan Keany emigrated from his home in Ireland to New York City in 1984. Soon after Brendan was hired as Assistant Maintenance Supervisor by Mutual Redevelopment Houses (Penn South), a 2820 unit cooperative in Chelsea.

Within one year, after proving himself a valuable employee, Brendan was promoted to Maintenance Supervisor and served in this position until early 1989. Because of his commitment to the cooperative, and his pursuit of continuing education, Brendan is a Registered Cooperative Manager (RCM) and Registered Apartment Manager (RAM), he became Assistant General Manager in the latter part of 1989.

In 1995, Brendan was promoted to General Manager, the highest ranking position of employment in the cooperative.

Through the years, Brendan has developed a strong sense of the ideals that are part of cooperative living. He also agrees with the organization's position that all property managers should be licensed. NYARM will certainly benefit from Brendan's experience in the industry, his principles and integrity.
