During the fabulously appointed cocktail hour replete with suckling pig, sushi stations, lobster, clams and oysters on the half shell and more chafing dishes than you can imagine the Mardi Gras mood permeated the room. Necklaces of purple, green and gold were distributed to men and ladies alike. Upon entering the reception women were presented with feathered masks, the men with shiny satin ones.

At each place setting was a NYARM inscribed treasure chest complete with necklace, rings, bracelets and coins. One lucky guest at each table found a red marble in their chest which entitled them to take one of 40 poinsettia plants donated by Andrew Rosenwach, Rosenwach Tank that decorated the hall.

The evening's entertainment was once again presented by New York's Ultimate Entertainment, a disc jockey par excellence. His music and enthusiasm had everyone dancing from beginning to end.

As always at this event, NYARM celebrates its finest. Len Jones, NYARM President welcomed the 400 plus members and friends to the festivities, then he presented the annual awards. The year 2000 honors went to E. John Hendrick, Manager of the Year; Kew Forest Maintenance and Supply, Associate of the Year; Lawrence Properties, Management Company of the Year; Joan Saberito, Lifetime Achievement and Irwin Sandler, Outstanding Patron. These individual and company members have contributed consistently to the betterment of the real estate management industry and to the organization.

All five honorees received beautiful crystal trophies and were highlighted in the dinner dance journal, distributed to every guest and advertiser. This journal serves as a commemorative record of the past year's functions and events. Congratulatory letters from Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, Governor George Pataki, Speaker of the City Council Peter Vallone and others adorn the pages making this journal a collector's item. Photos of NYARM activities adorn the pages. Coordinated by a committee of NYARM members this year's advertising revenues far exceeded prior years. Chairman Ben Jacobson did a wonderful job and sincere thanks are extended to all our contributing advertisers.

The evening ended with the promise to meet 52 weeks hence on Saturday, December 1, 2001. Another theme (have any ideas, let us know), another successful party to experience. See you then!
