1998 was the most successful year in the history of the New York Association of Realty Managers (NYARM). Highlighted among our many accomplishments was an increase in our membership roll and the addition of nyarm certifcation graduates. Our tradeshow, the NYARM Real Estate Expo '98, attracted more visitors and vendors than any year before in it's ten year history. Attendance at our monthly meetings and seminars was unparalleled.
And what a way to finish our 40th anniversary year. Our Christmas charity work went very well. We increased the number of schools for Santa's visit to three. The families, staff and children at the New York Learning Institute, Francis at Paola and of course Brooklyn Blue Feather allowed us to share the NYARM spirit with them. It brought joy to all of us. Thanks to Chairperson Joan Saberito for her dedication to these children and to Nelson "Santa Claus" Davis, and to all the NYARM members who helped Santa.
1998 was also topped off by the best holiday party ever. On December 5th more than 500 NYARM members and friends enjoyed wonderful food, fantastic music and much fun. We thank Rochelle Captan and Wayne Reed, co-chairmen of the Dinner Dance committee for its success. The 1998 Dinner Dance Journal is truly a collector's item and we thank Ben Jacobson for his determination to make each journal a greater financial success than the last. A very special thanks to Donna Klein, NYARM's Executive Director, for her work in support of all our programs and events throughout the year.
Finally, I offer my congratulations to the men and women that received NYARM's highest honors. Suz Landi, Tom Maniuszko, Anita Sapirman, Otis Jones and Wayne Reed epitomize the highest standard of a professional in our industry and organization.
1998 was a wonderful year. We look forward to making 1999, the last year of this millennium, even better.
