AKAM Associates, the first New York residential management company to offer an interactive Internet website, has now developed the AKAM Genesis System, the first-ever proprietary Internet portal for the exclusive use of properties managed by a professional residential management firm. The AKAM Genesis System will be in place and available for the use of AKAM clients on June 1, 2000.
To get into the AKAM Genesis System, which will be accessed by visiting the AKAM website at www.akam.com, residents of AKAM managed buildings will use a secured building code and user password. Once in the system, residents will be able to view messages from management; access staff information including work schedules; submit work orders; view corporate documents such as house rules, by-laws and the minutes of board meetings; post messages and announcements on a message board that will offer the option to reach both their neighbors in the building and the residents of all AKAM managed properties; participate in a residents professional directory; and enjoy links to neighborhood and citywide information, weather, traffic and travel directions.
"Great ideas are often in the air," says Leslie Kaminoff, AKAM CEO. "So, it's no surprise that AKAM began developing the Genesis System about the same time some other companies came up with similar concepts." The difference, Kaminoff points out, is that unlike other Internet portals being marketed to management companies and their clients, the AKAM Genesis System has been designed specifically to meet the needs of AKAM managed buildings.

ANITA SAPIRMAN RECEIVES REAL ESTATE BOARD OF NY AWARD
Anita Sapirman, RAM, nyarm, founder and president of Manhattan based Saparn Realty, Inc., has been named Residential Management Executive of the Year by the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY). Ms. Sapirman received the award, "in recognition of her outstanding professionalism in the field of property management, civic achievement and contributions to the real estate industry," during the breakfast reception immediately preceding REBNY's Fifth Annual Real Estate Trade Show and convention on Friday, March 10, 2000 at the New York Hilton. The award was sponsored by REBNY, the REBNY Brokerage Division and the REBNY Management Council and was presented to Ms. Sapirman by attorney Benjamin Kirschenbaum who received the award last year and with whom Ms. Sapirman co-chaired the REBNY Management Council until this year.
In addition to stewarding Saparn Realty, one of new York's most highly respected residential management firms, Ms. Sapirman's ongoing industry contributions include positions as a founding member and past co-chair of the Residential Management Council of REBNY, co-founder and Vice President of the Association of Cooperative and Condominium Managers (ACCM) and member of the Executive Board of the Neighborhood Coalition for Shelter, Inc.

In fact, she was among the first group of professional property managers to be so designated by NYARM.
