SPOTLIGHT ON ADVANCED DIGITAL INTERNET (ADI)

Founded in July 1998, Advanced Digital Internet Inc. ("ADI") is a New York-based Internet service provider that offers broadband Internet access and IP services by leveraging its unique wireless architecture and by focusing strictly on residents of buildings with multiple dwelling units (MDUs). A highly successful management team that has constructed a unique network architecture employing state-of-the-art wireless transmitters leads the company. ADI, a venture capital backed company, provides the greatest bandwidth and most reliable IP service platform currently available to residential customers. ADI's Chairman also serves as Chairman of Intellispace, which has wired over 400 commercial buildings. ADI works with some of the most well respected suppliers in the industry including Lucent, Cabletron and Cisco.

Our features include:

  • Broadband in-building network, for delivery of state-of-the-art IP services
  • Dedicated "always on" Internet access
  • Ease of installation--the wireless technology requires no 'horizontal' to deliver Internet access into apartments or condos
  • Supports telecommuting via VLAN or "tunneling" through corporate firewall
  • Best user support in the industry. ADI provides 24 hour, 7 days a week customer service and support
  • Dedicated and guaranteed bandwidth for each ADI user (no bandwidth "pool" that all users must share)
  • Flexible Internet speed choices allows customers via a simple phone call or e-mail message to adjust access speeds
  • Extremely high network reliability
  • Highly competitive pricing structure - 64K "always on" pricing comparable to 56K dial-up account costs, 128K access much less expensive than ISDN 128K access, up to 640K is less expensive than DSL connections

  • ADI TECHNOLOGY
ADI uses a T-1 backbone, providing a guaranteed 1.544 megabits per second. We connect a T-1 or in many cases a T-3 line to the building (which is equivalent to the power of 24 T1's). The T-1 terminates in a router telecom area of the building. The router connects, in turn, to Ethernet switches via category 5 data grade riser cable. The switch ports are then connected via cable to a wireless transmitter on each floor of the building (some larger footprint buildings require multiple transmitters per floor). The transmitter uses a 2.4 GHz radio signal (like a cordless telephone) to complete the wireless network with a NIC (network interface card) installed in each subscriber's computer.

    EFFORTLESS DOWNLOADING
ADI's service will allow you to use the web the way it was meant to be used. Quickly download your favorite audio, video or software files. Imagine entertainment, programming and content, delivered right to your computer. ADI makes it happen for you.

    CUSTOMER FRIENDLY SUPPORT
We are on call 24/7 and are here to help you. We have built our business one resident at a time. In addition to providing Internet access, ADI can help with networking issues whether at work or within your apartment. ADI's technicians are all Microsoft certified providing you with the comfort of knowing that a skilled and experienced tech is working on your computer.

    COMPETITIVE ANALYSIS
Dial-Up: slow speed, busy signals, disconnects, yesterday's technology - one price for slow service.
DSL: up to 640k for downloading data, slower for uploading. If more than seven subscribers from same riser use, service speed slows down or stops. Service from Bell Atlantic or their partner. One speed, one price, no networking services. Service issues. Cable Modem: service slows with more users, typically one price for one speed, no networking service.
Bundled Service: sounds good in theory but you can't do everything well. In addition today you can buy long distance better on your own. People want a choice. ADI provides tenants with speed today at prices that are competitive using wireless technology.
