NYARM REAL ESTATE EXPO OCTOBER 18 MOVES TO THE NEW YORK HILTON
Relief Agencies Working With WTC Disaster Victims Prevent Use of Pier 88

Due to the use of the west side Piers by local and federal disaster relief agencies, the New York Association of Realty Managers Expo '01 (NYARM Expo) on Thursday, October 18th will be held at The New York Hilton, 1335 Avenue of the Americas (between West 53rd and 54th Streets). The Expo will continue from 10 AM to 6 PM.

The NYARM Expo is a one-day event that focuses on products and services for owners and managers of multi-unit residential housing. More than 150 companies are exhibiting at the event. Moreover, nearly 1,000 industry professionals have pre-registered to attend the show.

"Ensuring the NYARM event takes place as scheduled is essential," said show manager Scott Stein of McCarthy Expositions. "It will be the first opportunity for the real estate community to meet and discuss the World Trade Tower attack's impact on the residential housing industry. By holding the Expo on schedule, we will do our part in following the President's and Mayor's directive to get back to work."

Conventions, such as the NYARM Expo, are considered by the industry, to be crucial to local and national economics. Exhibitions and other types of face-to-face events encourage business and will help restore strength to the national economy.

Three seminars will be conducted during the course of the day. "Saving Energy Dollars" will be presented at 9 AM. This seminar will focus on energy saving appliances, boiler maintenance, alternative technologies including elevator modernization and lighting in public areas.

"Indoor Air Quality" will begin at 11:30 AM. Probably one of the most anticipated discussions of the day, the panelists will discuss prevention and elimination of hazardous wastes and a legal perspective on environmental issues. Topics to be covered will include toxic mold, hazardous waste, oil spills, odor and pest control in compactor rooms and laundry room lint control.

"Safety in the Workplace" will commence at 2:30 PM. This seminar will teach you how to set up a site specific safety program that will help ensure the safety of your employees and impact your bottom line.

All three seminars carry nyarm certification credits (5 each) and are free. Pre-registration is advised for admittance to the show and seminars, but attendance at the seminars is based on a first come, first served basis. Seating is limited so it is advisable to arrive within 30 minutes prior to the beginning of each forum. Make sure you sign the attendance roster if you are seeking nyarm certification credit or re-certification.
