PIER 88 TO BE SITE OF NYARM EXPO
The New York Association of Realty Managers (NYARM) will present its 12th annual convention, the NYARM Real Estate Expo '01, on Thursday, October 18 at Pier 88, 12th Avenue and 48th Street from 10 AM to 6 PM. Nearly 200 companies have signed up to exhibit their services, systems and sales force.

Three educational and important seminars are scheduled: Saving Energy Dollars, Indoor Air Quality and Other Environmental Issues and Safety In The Work Place. All participating panelists are professionals and recognized authorities in their respective fields.

SAVING ENERGY DOLLARS
Due to the increase in energy costs and its impact on residential housing budgets this seminar will focus on energy saving appliances, boiler maintenance, alternate technologies including elevator modernization and lighting in public areas. This seminar will be presented at 9 AM.

INDOOR AIR QUALITY
As real estate professionals we must be concerned with the quality of life of our residents which includes the air they breathe. Join us for this provocative discussion on indoor air quality control, prevention and elimination of hazardous wastes and a legal perspective on environmental issues. Topics to be covered: toxic mold, hazardous waste, oil spills, odor and pest control in compactor rooms and laundry room lint control. This seminar will begin at 11:30 AM.

SAFETY IN THE WORK PLACE
Learn how to set up a site specific safety program. Be a hero to your employees and impact your bottom line. This seminar will commence at 2:30 PM. All three seminars carry 5 nyarm certification credits. Admission is free but pre-registration is requested. Limited seating will be filled on a first come, first served basis.

PIER 88
The move to the Show Piers is a fitting venue for a convention of this size. With 70,000 SF of glass enclosed space, Pier 88 at 48th Street has rooftop parking and is easily accessible from the West Side Highway. The Show Piers can be reached via the 8th Avenue subway, E or C trains to 50th Street, then via the M50 bus line. Also, bus lines M16 and M42 provide service to 42nd Street and 12th Avenue.

POSTER CONTEST
A never before seen highlight at the 2001 Expo will be a special competition, a poster contest. Management companies, owners and builders are invited to participate by entering their latest major capital improvement projects, retrofitting, façade work, lobby enhancement, etc. A brief description of the project including companies involved, budget, reason for work, completion details, etc. plus before and after photos (if available) will be showcased in a special section of the tradeshow floor. Attendees will be able to view the entries and a panel of industry representatives will vote for the winners in various categories.
