NYARM NAMES PROPERTY MANAGEMENT VETERAN LESLIE KAMINOFF TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS

P. Leonard Jones, president of the New York Association of Realty Managers (NYARM) has named Leslie Kaminoff, a well-known property management industry expert, to its Board of Directors.
Mr. Kaminoff brings to his new position decades of industry experience. He has served as chief executive officer of AKAM Associates, Inc., a property management firm he founded in 1983. Prior to that, he was the director of property management and assistant director of real estate for New Yorks prestigious Mount Sinai Medical Center, where he oversaw the development and acquisition of property for hospital use.
Leslie is an instructor at New York Universitys School of Continuing and Professional Studies, the Real Estate Institute, and is co-author of the book, "How to Choose the Right Management Company."
In his new post, Mr. Kaminoff joins a distinguished 16-member group that is responsible for governing NYARM, the oldest and largest such organization in the real estate industry. Among the groups most enduring strengths is its commitment to enhancing industry standards. To that end, NYARM offers an educational program at NYUs Real Estate Institute that culminates in the nyarm certification. On a broader scale, NYARM has long advocated legislation mandating licensing for property managers.
Commenting on the appointment, Mr. Jones said, "I am delighted to add someone of Mr. Kaminoffs stature to our Board of Directors, where I am confident he will do much to contribute to NYARMs ongoing success."
