Saddle up and take part in an enjoyable family adventure. We offer trail rides for all levels of riders - beginner, intermediate, advanced. Each ride is approximately one hour from mounting to dismounting. For your safety, each trail ride is accompanied by several experienced wranglers. The terrain is generally hilly, through thick wooded areas, which is why we use western saddles. Pinegrove is home to over 100 horses. Among them are Purebred Arabians, Quarter Horses, Thoroughbreds, Appaloosa, Paints and Draft Horses.

For our younger, inexperienced guests, we offer pony rides and our junior wrangler program. We also now offer a hands-on Barn Brats program for guests age 12 to 16 who have some prior horse experience.

Signing up for trail rides:

On the evening of your arrival, you may sign up for the trail rides for your entire stay. You may sign up for one ride per day. At that time, you will advise us of your riding ability. If you wish to ride more than once per day, you may go to the barn 15 minutes prior to any scheduled ride on a stand-by basis. If there are available horses, you may ride again.

What to expect during your ride:

New York State Law requires that helmets must be worn by all riders 14 years and younger.
Helmets are available for all adult and child riders at the barn.

You will be riding personally selected mounts, chosen for their smooth gaits, gentle nature, and sensitivity to your skill and needs. Our barn staff will assist you with mounting and dismounting your horse in the corral. Basic instructions of how to sit, position your feet, hold the reins, steer and stop your horse, will be given prior to each ride. All riders leave the corral together, and are observed as to their stated ability. If, in the opinion of our staff, it is in your safety to change your riding level, you will be asked to do so before the rides depart on their respective trails. You may receive instruction on the trail, at your request, from any of our wranglers. These skilled riders are here to help you enjoy your ride as well ensure your safety.

Bring the family together for an unforgettable adventure and memories to last a lifetime.

Be sure to check out our seasonal specials and holiday events. We also offer all-inclusive group sales packages.
